Performers Gymnastics Academy Ltd, located in Clacton-on-Sea, is a gymnastics facility that offers a wide range of classes for gymnasts of all ages and skill levels. Established in March 2017 by Kay Still, a former British Gymnastics Acrobatics Champion, PGA has grown rapidly to become one of the leading gymnastics clubs in the area.
Initially starting in Weeley Village Hall with just 40 members and one day of classes per week, Performers Gymnastics Academy quickly expanded to offer classes four days a week, serving a membership of over 150 aspiring gymnasts. In April 2019, the academy moved to its own fully equipped permanent premises, providing an even wider range of classes and training opportunities for its members.
The academy offers a variety of classes to cater to different age groups and skill levels. The Pre-School Gymnastics programme is specifically designed for children aged 3 1/2 to 5 years and provides fun and fully structured sessions supervised by qualified and enthusiastic coaches.
For school-aged children up to 13 years old, Performers Gymnastics Academy offers Recreational Gymnastics classes. These classes run on most days and cater to beginners through to intermediate level gymnasts. From the recreational classes, talented gymnasts may be invited to join one of the academy's development or competition squads, where they can further enhance their skills and potentially participate in gymnastics competitions.
The Competition Squad at Performers Gymnastics Academy is an invitation-only group for gymnasts aged 6 and above who demonstrate the potential and ability to compete. These dedicated gymnasts train for four hours per week under the guidance of highly experienced coaches.
