Located in Pennant Hills, New South Wales, Pennant Hills Park is a popular park and tennis court that serves as a prominent tourist attraction. Nestled within the scenic Hornsby Shire Council area, this park offers a range of recreational activities and amenities for visitors of all ages.
The park boasts a network of pedestrian paths that connect various sports facilities, parking areas, and buildings, ensuring safe and convenient movement throughout the park. These pathways have been carefully designed to enhance accessibility and facilitate easy navigation for park users.
Thanks to funding from the NSW Government and Hornsby Shire Council, the project to develop the pedestrian path network has been completed in several stages. The most recent updates include the construction of pathways, drainage systems, lawns, and fencing in the northwest and west sections of Oval 1, as well as the completion of pathway and parking works from the netball area to the tennis area.
Visitors to Pennant Hills Park can enjoy the newly completed shared path along the eastern and southern sides of Oval 1. These paths are complemented by sandstone retaining walls that serve both as seating for park users and as spectator viewing areas during sporting events. Additionally, a pathway has been constructed near the existing carpark at the netball area, connecting it to the existing path from Pennant Hills Oval 3. Another new pathway connects from the south of tennis court No.
9. To ensure safety, the park has also seen the installation of new traffic-calming measures, including speed humps and traffic signs.
Ongoing works at Pennant Hills Park include the upgrade of the existing unpaved parallel parking area in front of the tennis courts to paved parking, along with the creation of a separate pedestrian path. There are also plans to improve pathway access around Oval 1 and Oval 2, further enhancing the overall park experience. These works are scheduled to continue until the end of 2022.
