Pennant Hills Bridge Club is a community-based club located in Carlingford, Australia. The club conducts duplicate bridge sessions every Tuesday evening and Wednesday afternoon at Carlingford Court. The Tuesday evening sessions start at 7:30 pm, while the Wednesday afternoon sessions start at 1 pm. Both sessions take place at The Community Centre on the 3rd floor of Carlingford Court Shopping Centre, located at the corner of Pennant Hills and Carlingford Roads.
During these sessions, complimentary tea and coffee are provided to all participants. For the Tuesday evening sessions, parking is suggested on the Lower Ground Floors, and participants can use the elevators to reach the 3rd floor. After 10 pm, the only available car park exit is on the bottom floor (CP2). Parking is free for 3 hours, but registered seniors and bridge players can park all day for $3.
Alternatively, participants can also park on level 2 and walk up the stairs to level 3. However, after the session, they will need to drive down to CP2 to exit.
In addition to the regular sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the club also encourages its members to participate in Monday sessions run by the Carlingford Bridge Club at Carlingford Court. These sessions start at 11 am, and participants are advised to bring their own lunch.
For individuals who are looking for a partner to play bridge with, whether it be on a regular basis or for a casual session, the club offers a partner service. Interested individuals can register their availability with the designated contact people. For Tuesday night sessions, Jan Plumb can be contacted at 8882 9490, and for Wednesday day sessions, Fay Fitzgerald can be reached at 0419 619 828. Jan and Fay will make an effort to match up people in advance of the session, as the club prefers partners to be arranged beforehand rather than having players show up without a partner.
The club's session fees are $7 for members and $9 for visitors, with an additional $2 fee for red point sessions. The annual subscription fee is $60 for home club members and $20 for non-home (alternate) club members.
In June 2018, the Pennant Hills Bridge Club celebrated its 50th anniversary of successful operation. The club marked the occasion with birthday cakes at both the night and day party sessions.
Notably, the club has had past presidents Anna Thomas and Vince Cariola, as well as life members Trish Grigson and Elizabeth Wilson. The club is committed to providing a welcoming and enjoyable environment for bridge enthusiasts in the Carlingford area.
