PE Department is a boutique gym and group training space located in Chelmer, Brisbane. They offer individualised exercise experiences in small group settings, using a range of cardio and strength equipment in a fully equipped large studio. Their training methodology is simple and based on three speciality 50 minute sessions: Strength, Fitness, and All In.
At PE Department, they prioritise customised programmes using tried and tested training methods over what is trending because they believe that simplicity is often what's best. They want their clients to start their fitness journey the right way, so at the induction class, they perform a movement and strength assessment to identify any movement and muscle discrepancies. This not only gives clients confidence but also helps them develop the necessary skills in all key movements before entering regular classes.
PE Department loves celebrating the little wins along their clients' fitness journey, which is why they have designed quarterly focus sessions to highlight improvements. Every 12 weeks, they test, compare, and highlight clients' improvements through a body scan, fitness test, and strength test.
While it is recommended to attend one of each session per week, PE Department understands that it's not always possible. To accommodate this, clients can head into the gym between classes and work their way through the day's session displayed on the TV screens. Alternatively, they can ask one of the trainers for assistance in creating a programme that suits their specific fitness goals.
The Strength Department at PE Department is perfect for those looking to progress their body and build whole body strength and lean muscle. Clients are taken through the fundamentals of strength training using dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, and more. Proper movement is prioritised before considering weight, and classes vary week to week as clients progress through different phases of strength training.
The Fitness Department offers sessions that take clients' fitness to the next level. These sessions range from high-intensity circuits to boxing and aim to fire up metabolism in the most fun and efficient way possible.
The All In class is PE Department's signature class, combining their two training methods for a complete workout. Clients spend the first half of the class working on their weaknesses and challenging their strength, and then finish off the session with some intensity. This class is sure to get the blood pumping, and their famous “finishers” will have clients burning calories in no time.
PE Department also offers a Pilates Department, which focuses on low-impact flexibility, muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates aims to improve postural alignment, core strength, and muscle balance, while also enhancing body awareness. They believe that the Pilates Department adds another dimension and supports the work completed in the Strength, Fitness, and All In Departments.
