To create PD Limitless. My goal is to provide a comprehensive and evidence-based exercise programme specifically designed for individuals living with Parkinson's.
PD Limitless offers both one-on-one sessions and structured group classes. In the one-on-one sessions, I work closely with individuals to assess their specific needs and develop a customised exercise programme tailored to their capabilities and goals. These sessions allow for personalised attention and guidance to ensure optimal progress and improvement.
The structured group classes are designed to foster a sense of community and provide a supportive environment for individuals with Parkinson's. Research has shown that group exercise classes offer numerous benefits, including increased participation levels, improved mood, better social engagement, and a larger sense of accomplishment. The classes are led by myself, Grace Mayer, and I bring my knowledge, enthusiasm, and commitment to help individuals achieve their best.
The exercises in PD Limitless are evidence-based and have been proven to have numerous benefits for individuals with Parkinson's. These benefits include improved balance, longer strides when walking, improved gait quality, improved mood, and an overall better quality of life. I ensure that the exercises are challenging yet achievable, and I provide ongoing support and guidance to help individuals progress and reach their goals.
PD Limitless recognises the prevalence of Parkinson's in New Zealand, with approximately 12,000 New Zealanders living with the condition. The programme aims to bridge the gap in physiotherapy-led rehabilitation services specifically tailored to the Parkinson's community in the Waikato region.
Testimonials from members of PD Limitless highlight the positive impact of the programme. Members express their appreciation for the knowledgeable and enthusiastic approach of Grace Mayer, noting that the classes and exercises help keep them motivated and play a vital role in managing their symptoms. The social interaction and support from the group also contribute to the overall positive experience of the programme.
In addition to the exercise programme, PD Limitless offers a seasonal newsletter to keep members informed about the latest news, resources, and events related to Parkinson's and physical fitness. This newsletter serves as a valuable resource for individuals seeking ongoing support and information.
