Pavyotts Mill Carp Fisheries, located in Yeovil, is a fishing camp that offers a tranquil and secluded environment for carp anglers. Since taking over in May 2021, Pavyotts Mill Fishery has undergone significant improvements and now boasts multiple carp lakes, all stocked with a variety of fish, including specimens exceeding 50LB.
The Maze Lake is the largest lake on the complex, spanning approximately eight acres. It features thirteen double swims, including a wooden cabin that comfortably accommodates two people. Additionally, a water platform allows anglers to get in the water for a better grip on their catch and to take memorable photos. Each swim is equipped with essential amenities, such as fresh water supply, eliminating the need for visitors to bring their own barrow.
The lake has a silt and clay bottom with an average depth of 10ft and a current carp stock of up to 52lb.
Kingfisher Lake spans around two acres and offers five double swims, each with huts and beds for added comfort. The lake has an average depth of 8ft and a silty bottom. Anglers can expect a good head of carp, with weights reaching up to 34lbs.
Woodpecker Lake, the smallest of the three lakes at approximately one acre, also features huts, beds, and ample space for anglers. It has an average depth of 9ft with a silty bottom and a healthy stock of double-sized carp.
Upon arrival, visitors will receive essential equipment, including a landing net, cradle, and sling, as well as a chip reader for data collection. Additionally, they will be provided with a return card that serves as a reminder of the fishery's rules. Guests are allowed to bring their own bait boat. Before departure, all equipment must be returned, and the completed returns card is crucial for data collection purposes.
For bookings and inquiries, the office phone line is open from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, and on Sundays. However, the phone line is closed for bookings on Saturdays. The check-in time is from 11:30, and guests are expected to check out before 10:30. The lake gates open at 8:00am and close at 9:00pm.
It is the responsibility of visitors to ensure that the lake gate to their swim is closed, and the main gate and fishery gate close promptly at 9:00pm. Toilets and showers are available 24/7 for convenience.
