Parker School of Dance

Parker School of Dance, located in Pictou, offers highland dance lessons for all abilities. Led by Allyson, the classes are held at the Ashlei Ballet School in Stellarton and at her family's home in Central West River. With a passion for celebrating the rich Scottish history of the area, Allyson brings her love for highland dance to students in Pictou County.

As a dance teacher, Allyson believes in helping her students find the song in their heart, the beat in their feet, and a passion for life. Highland dance is not just a form of art, but also a sport that combines creativity and athleticism. Beyond learning the dances, students gain skills such as self-confidence, discipline, patience, sportsmanship, and form lifelong friendships.

Registration is open for the 2023-2024 dance year, welcoming new dancers to join the Thursday classes in New Glasgow. Classes for the upcoming year will begin the week of September 12th, offering a chance for dancers to explore the unique and inspiring world of highland dance.
