Dive into the world of goalball and learn the moves of blocking & rolling with Bukit Canberra ActiveSG Swimming Complex's very own national athlete, Coach Joan Hung! Led by Coach Joan Hung, who was part of the ASEAN Para Games (APG) 2022 silver-winning team, participants will learn the fundamental techniques of Goalball (blocking & rolling) and understand the rules of the game.
Eyeshades, knee & elbow guards will be provided for this programme, which is part of the Goalball29 Project, supported by Certis. Goalball is a sport designed for the visually impaired and played in teams of 3. Players attempt to score by rolling a ball equipped with bells into the opposing team’s goal, while opponents listen for the oncoming ball and attempt to block it with their bodies.
The event is open to persons with visual impairment aged 7 years old and above, with sessions occurring twice a month on Sunday afternoons. Upcoming dates include a friendly match on 21 Apr and sessions on 5 & 26 May and 2 &16 June from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Additionally, there are weekly sessions on Mondays from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
