The club offers a variety of events and activities throughout the year to keep members engaged and active. One of the popular events is the Tennis Club Night, which takes place every Tuesday night from 6:30pm onwards. This is a great opportunity for players to meet new people, as they will be placed on court with different players each time. Non-members can also join in on the fun by attending three free club nights before deciding to sign up.
For those interested in improving their skills, the club provides junior coaching during terms 1 & 4. This coaching programme aims to nurture young talent and inspire the next generation of tennis stars. Additionally, there is a Vets Tennis session every Friday from 9:00am to midday, which is open to both members and non-members.
Midweek tennis is another popular activity at the club, played year-round on Wednesdays from 9:00am to midday. This provides an opportunity for members to play doubles in a casual and social setting.
For those looking for a bit of healthy competition, the club offers a Tennis Ladder every Thursday night from 6:30pm. This ladder started on November 2nd and welcomes players who are keen to challenge their skills and compete with friends.
Papakura Tennis & Squash Club also values the development of its junior players. Thanks to the support of the Papakura Local Board, the club hosts a Junior Community Event every November. This event features various tennis activities and games, providing a fun and engaging environment for all junior players.
In terms of squash, the club hosts the annual Club Champs tournament in November, open to both competitive and social squash members. This is a chance for players to showcase their skills and compete for the title. Additionally, the club recently held a Calcutta Tournament, which saw plenty of excitement and cash being thrown around.
The club also recognises the achievements of its members outside its own tournaments.
