The Palmerston North Surf Life Saving Club takes great pride in offering a dynamic Junior Surf programme that caters to children between the ages of 7 and 13. The focus of this programme is not only to enhance the participants' understanding and abilities in surf lifesaving, but also to ensure that they have an absolute blast while doing so. Safety is, of course, a top priority throughout the entire programme.
Interested in joining the Junior Surf programme? It's easy! Just head on down to the Lido in Palmerston North every Sunday during the school terms, bright and early at 9am. Alternatively, you can get in touch with Phil Nevill at 021 396 092 to find out more. Please bear in mind that children must be members of our exceptional Club in order to take part.
When it comes to our exciting beach sessions, they typically kick off at the end of November and continue every Sunday until the end of March. Both on-land and in-water training is included in these sessions, which take place right on the beach itself. You'll find the meeting point at our Club house. Though it doesn't matter if there's rain, hail, or shine, as we hold the sessions come what may, it is worth mentioning that during exceptionally severe weather conditions, surf safety activities may be moved indoors to our trusty clubrooms.
But wait, there's more! In addition to the regular sessions, we offer a range of captivating competitions throughout the season, allowing our junior surfers to really show off their talents. One of the highlights is undoubtedly the much-anticipated Oceans Nationals. We also organise a number of local competitions, providing an enjoyable and spirited environment for participants to hone their surfing skills, explore different beaches, and form meaningful connections with juniors hailing from other clubs.
So, if you're looking to dive headfirst into the world of surf lifesaving, our Junior Surf programme is the perfect place to start. We can't wait to welcome you to the Palmerston North Surf Life Saving Club family!
