At Pagham Karate Club, the emphasis is on traditional foundations with a modern practical approach. The club believes in functional Karate and does not focus on shape-making, but rather rewards hard work and effort. The aim is to teach students respect, discipline, and practical self-defence skills that can be effectively used in real-life situations.
The club offers enjoyable kids karate lessons that instil respect and discipline in a form that is both fun and effective. Children are taught important life skills while also improving their self-confidence and focus. Adult karate classes are also available, where the focus is on continual improvement and pushing oneself to perform better than before.
By training in Shotokan Karate, students not only gain physical fitness and self-defence skills but also develop self-confidence, respect, discipline, focus, and stillness. The training of the body and mind to work together harmoniously is a key aspect of effective Karate. Additionally, diligent training over the years also provides an invaluable awareness of self-defence principles and techniques.
Pagham Karate Club prides itself on teaching to a very high standard and passing on vital life skills, rather than simply increasing their bank balance. All instructors at the club have undergone Enhanced CRB checks and dedicate their own time and effort to passing on their knowledge gained from thousands of hours of diligent study.
Located at Pagham Village Hall in Pagham, West Sussex, the club welcomes both children and adults to join their family. They offer a free first lesson and have spaces available. For more information, interested individuals are encouraged to contact them through phone or email.
