Padded Gloves is a renowned boxing and fitness gym located in Glebe, Sydney's Inner West. Unlike typical cardio boxing or boxercise classes found in Sydney, Padded Gloves training sessions elevate the fitness experience to a whole new level. The primary goal of Padded Gloves is to assist individuals in achieving fitness and overall health. By attending our classes, participants can expect to burn fat, tone up, and improve their overall fitness level. Moreover, cardio boxing serves as an excellent stress release and, when combined with other lifestyle factors, can enhance mood, reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and boost confidence and self-esteem.
At Padded Gloves, the trainers are fully qualified and have experience in conditioning world champion boxers, professional fighters, and various other athletes. Regardless of age or fitness level, our gym welcomes men and women from all walks of life, including students, professionals, parents, and retirees. People from all over Sydney travel to attend our classes, and even those who have relocated interstate or overseas make it a point to join in for a session when they visit Sydney.
For individuals new to boxing or trying out Padded Gloves for the first time, we offer Beginners Technique classes. These classes are designed to provide an introduction to our training style, including the form and technique we employ during our sessions and the way we call out combinations. Beginners Technique classes are held twice a week on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:30 pm, lasting for 60 minutes. Each participant receives personalised attention and coaching during these classes to ensure they grasp the fundamentals.
Even if you consider yourself quite fit, starting with a technique class at Padded Gloves is highly recommended. Our training will likely push you harder than what you are accustomed to, as we focus on both aerobic and anaerobic fitness. In addition to physical fitness, boxing at Padded Gloves requires mental engagement to execute correct combinations. You will learn to connect your brain with your body while training with us, using different muscle groups and moving in new, challenging ways.
1. Warm-up: This may involve activities such as running, skipping, and shadow sparring to prepare your body for the training session.
2. Bag work: We call out combinations for you to punch on the bag, providing a comprehensive workout for your upper body, core, and lower body.
3. Partner work: Participants pair up, with one person wearing gloves and the other holding pads for punching. The trainer guides you through various combinations, and you switch roles during the session.
4. Core workout: This segment includes exercises like pushups, sit-ups, weight training, medicine ball work, and more to strengthen your core muscles.
5. Stretching: A variety of stretches are incorporated to release the muscles worked during the class and aid in recovery.
In addition to Beginners Technique classes, we also offer Cardio Boxing classes. These 60-minute sessions are designed to get you moving, sweating, and having a great time while working on your fitness goals. We provide all the necessary equipment, but you are welcome to bring your own punching gloves or catching pads. Don't forget to bring a water bottle and towel to stay hydrated and fresh throughout the session.
For those seeking a more intense workout, we offer Cardio Boxing Max classes. These 75-minute sessions provide an extended and challenging experience to kickstart your fitness journey or take your current training to the next level. As with all our classes, we ensure a fun and supportive environment while pushing you to achieve your best.
