Oxford HOOPS Basketball Club is Oxford's largest and most renowned basketball club, serving the community since 1995. Located at Cheney School on Cheney Lane, Oxford, the club offers a range of teams catering to various age groups and skill levels.
The club is led by Franky Marulanda, who has been with the club since its inception. Franky's vision was to create a family-friendly basketball club that would be open to players of all abilities. He wanted to provide a place for kids to have fun while playing the sport they love. All the club's coaches have a long history with the club, having started playing for the team as kids.
They are DBS checked and hold formal coaching qualifications from England Basketball.
Most of the club's practise sessions and games take place at Oxford Spires Academy and Cheney School. However, depending on the age group and team, the club also trains and plays at other venues in Oxford.
At Oxford HOOPS, the focus is not just on basketball, but on building a strong basketball community. The players and their families are considered members of the club family. The club takes pride in building meaningful relationships with its players and their families, both on and off the court. They deeply care about the well-being and development of their players.
The club regularly updates their website and social media pages with news and events. The club also welcomes new members to their executive committee, ensuring that the club is well-managed and constantly improving.
