Come and join the Oxford University Underwater Exploration Group (OUUEG) for an exciting Scuba Diving event! OUUEG is not your ordinary sports club – it's a community of around 70 divers, including students, staff, and alumni of the University of Oxford, as well as individuals who are not affiliated with the University. Established in 1963, OUUEG proudly holds the title of being one of the oldest dive clubs in the UK.
Being a recognised University Sports club and an official branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC), OUUEG offers a vibrant diving experience for divers of all levels. Whether you're a beginner eager to explore the underwater world or a seasoned diver seeking new adventures, OUUEG has got you covered. They provide diving and skills development courses at all levels, ensuring that there's something for everyone.
The club's diving activities are not limited to the local waters, as they organise both weekend trips along the breathtaking south coast and longer expeditions to more remote parts of the UK and even abroad. OUUEG dives all year round, allowing divers to indulge in their passion regardless of the season.
If you're worried about gear, don't fret! OUUEG has an extensive range of SCUBA equipment available for hire, even for their larger expeditions. All the equipment is neatly stored in their kit hut at the Iffley Sports Centre, so you can rest assured that you'll be well-equipped for your diving adventures.
But wait, there's more! The club is the proud owner of “Seahorse,” a magnificent 5.8m Tornado RHIB. This hard hull boat is fully equipped with modern technology such as a GPS/chartplotter, a depth sounder, and a VHF radio. Seahorse opens up endless possibilities for dive trips, whether it's a weekend excursion or a week-long expedition – the choice is yours! If you're interested in taking Seahorse for a dive trip, all you need to do is get in touch with the boat and diving officers and make the necessary arrangements.
So, if you're a diving enthusiast or simply looking to explore the fascinating world beneath the waves, the Oxford University Underwater Exploration Group (OUUEG) is the place to be. Don't miss out on this incredible event and dive into a world of adventure with OUUEG! Remember, you don't need to be at the University to join them. Get ready to dive in!
