Overbury Cricket Club in Tewkesbury has been the heart of village life since 1886. That’s quite a legacy. The club boasts top-notch facilities, including a new pavilion, covers, and practise nets. Phil Jones, the organiser, is welcoming new players, regardless of experience, and social members are also encouraged to join in.
For the 2023 season, the Saturday XI is going head-to-head in the Cotswold Hills League 4th Division. The Sunday XI has a full slate of fixtures, and there are plenty of midweek friendly T20 matches for players at all levels. Senior outdoor training kicks off on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm from early April.
Junior cricket has been a staple at Overbury CC for over 30 years. In 2023, the club is fielding U11, U13, and U15 teams. Training for U11 and U13 squads is on Friday evenings, with matches on Sunday mornings. U15s practise on Mondays and play on Tuesday evenings. For younger kids aged 4-7, there’s the ECB All Stars programme, and the ECB Dynamos programme is available for kids aged 7-9.
