Out Innerspace Dance Theatre is a dynamic and innovative dance company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Founded by David Raymond, who has a strong background in tap dance and urban, classical, and popular dance styles, the company is dedicated to creating exciting and integral contemporary dance works. David's hunger for new movement and approaches has led to the exploration of alternative applications of his foundational forms and the development of his choreographic voice.
Collaborating with Tiffany Tregarthen, the company's works draw upon fear and curiosity for the things happening in and around us. Together, David and Tiffany have shared a two year creative residency in Antwerp, continuing to develop their creative partnership and individual movement language. In addition to creating dance works, David also explores video as a medium to capture and support dance.
Out Innerspace Dance Theatre is committed to pushing beyond traditional esthetics and forms with unreserved ingenuity. Their performances are innovative yet accessible, appealing to a wide range of audiences. In addition to their work with the company, David is also involved with The 605 Collective and Wen Wei Dance, showcasing his versatility and passion for dance.
Located on the unceded Indigenous land belonging to the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the xmkwym (Musqueam), Skwxw7mesh (Squamish), and Sllwta/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, Out Innerspace Dance Theatre is dedicated to honouring and respecting the heritage and history of the land they operate on. Through their innovative and captivating dance works, the company continues to push the boundaries of contemporary dance and inspire audiences with their creativity and passion.
