About

Sport Venture kicked off the Outdoor Hockey League (OHL) season in Regina, a longstanding tradition that has been running for over 30 years. The OHL is dedicated to providing youth aged six to 16 with the opportunity to play hockey on outdoor rinks, fostering a love for the game and promoting community spirit. The league operates from January to March at eight rinks throughout the city, giving children equal time on the ice regardless of skill level.

The OHL is committed to breaking down barriers to participation in hockey by offering the league completely free of charge. This inclusivity extends to providing equipment for all players, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder anyone from joining the league. The OHL aims to make hockey accessible to all youth, regardless of background or experience, promoting a sense of camaraderie and teamwork among participants.

For the 2024 season, the league is open to all youth aged six to 16, with Mini Hockey (ages 6 to 7) specifically offered at the Eastview location. Parents interested in registering their children for the atom or bantam age groups are encouraged to contact sportventure@ranchehrlo. Ca for more information on practice locations. The OHL prides itself on creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every child can learn and grow through the sport of hockey.

As part of Ehrlo Sport Venture, the OHL operates under the belief that everyone should have the right to play sports. The program aims to provide youth and families with control and access to a variety of recreational programs, ensuring that cost and equipment are not obstacles to participation. By offering free sports leagues and equipment borrowing services, Sport Venture seeks to make it easy for families to engage in physical activity and build healthy habits.

The OHL is supported by volunteers and staff ambassadors from the Regina community, who are dedicated to creating a positive and empowering experience for all participants. Through partnerships with organizations like the Regina Pats, the league is able to expand its impact and reach more youth in the community. The OHL is more than just a hockey leagueit's a community-driven initiative that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game of hockey.
