Sailing or boating training, please get in touch with our Principle, David Clouston. He will be able to provide you with more information on the courses available and help you find the best option for your needs.
The Club runs RYA approved sailing courses and has a team of experienced RYA instructors and senior instructors. We provide training on club-owned boats such as Wayfarers and Picos, which are often used by past students on racing nights. Our instructors and members are always willing to introduce new members to the sport by taking them as crew and giving them a taste of sailing.
In addition to training, Orkney Sailing Club also offers a range of social events and activities throughout the year. Regular dances and functions are held at the Club, providing opportunities for members to socialise and have fun. A yearly diary of activities can be found on the social events page, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The club is conveniently located on the harbour front in a listed building known as “The Girnel” in Harbour Street. However, please note that currently, The Girnel remains closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. We look forward to the grand opening as restrictions are relaxed.
