Oriental Rongotai Footbal Club

Oriental Rongotai Football Club, affectionately known as Ories, is a rugby club located in Wellington, New Zealand. Established in 1888, it is now the only rugby club in the Miramar Peninsula. The club is situated at The Polo Grounds on Park Rd, Miramar, and has strong links with the local community and schools, including Rongotai College and Scots College.

Ories offers rugby opportunities for all ages and skill levels. Their junior rugby programme covers Nursery grade (4 and under) up to Under 13 grade, providing teams for all young players. The club also has a strong senior club, with leading 1 and 2, Colts, and President grade teams. It is one of the few clubs that caters for girls and women's rugby, boasting a strong leading team, and welcoming all female players.

In addition to rugby, Ories also includes netball as part of their club community. They have three teams, ranging from a high-level top grade to a social grade, to cater to all female members.

The club is proud of its facilities, which include two floodlit fields, an indoor 'polyturf' gymnasium, and social clubrooms. The Polo Grounds are located on the Miramar Peninsula, just 7 kilometres east of the city centre and 1 kilometre from Wellington International Airport. Notably, the well-known film maker Peter Jackson and his film studios are situated only 400 metres away from the club.

Orienta Rongotai Football Club has a rich history and has formed a strong alliance with Rongotai College, a local secondary school. The club has provided resources and coaching personnel to the school, and in return, Rongotai has produced notable players such as All Blacks Ma'a Nonu and Julian & Ardie Savea, as well as New Zealand Sevens Representative Roy Kinikinilau.

The club's commitment to development is evident through the appointment of Mason Malagamaali'i as the fulltime Rugby Development Officer. This has ensured excellent coaching resources and a high profile among other local colleges in the area.
