Welcome to Open Space Dance School, the leading dance school in Brighton, New Zealand. Known for its unique vibe and dedication to learning, well-being, and fun, Open Space is the place to be if you want to become the best version of yourself through dance.
Founded by Trey J Fry, the Principal of Open Space Dance School, we have been helping students develop their dance skills since May 9th, 2000. At Open Space, we believe in individualised learning, allowing each student to progress at their own pace and level. Whether you want to dance for fun or aspire to dance professionally, we cater to all levels of dancers.
We pride ourselves on maintaining a warm and friendly atmosphere, where students are encouraged to thrive. Open Space is a non-competitive school, focusing on supporting and helping each other, ensuring that every student feels good about themselves. Our staff are fully qualified with the I. D.
T. A. , and our Principal, Trey, holds a degree in Dance and Education Studies and is also a certified Life Coach. We prioritise the well-being and growth of our students, both in their love for dance and as human beings.
At Open Space, we offer a wide range of dance styles to suit everyone's interests. Our classes start from 18 months old and cater to adults as well. Some of the dance styles we offer include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Freestyle, Street, Commercial, Musical Theatre, Latin American, and Zumba. We have three venues across Brighton – St George's Community Centre in Kemp Town, Moulsecoomb Hall in Moulsecoomb, and St Martins Church Hall in Saltdean.
In addition to regular classes, Open Space provides opportunities for examinations with the I. Our annual shows are held at prestigious venues such as Roedean, and we also offer School Holiday workshops that our students love.
Furthermore, Open Space offers additional services such as Wedding Dance Choreography, Hen Parties, and Children's Birthday Parties. We have carefully curated packages for these events to make them memorable and enjoyable.
