Thanks to a partnership with Love Open Water, residents, visitors, and workers can now take a refreshing dip in the beautiful Middle Dock waters, all while enjoying the stunning views of iconic landmarks such as One Canada Square and Newfoundland.
Safety is our top priority, which is why we have teamed up with NOWCA, the UK's largest network of safe open water venues. Thanks to NOWCA, we ensure that the water at Canary Wharf undergoes regular testing to meet the high cleanliness standards set by the EU Bathing Standards. This means that our swimmers can rest assured that the water here is both clean and safe to swim in.
Every session at Open Water Swimming at Canary Wharf is lifeguarded, providing an extra layer of security for our swimmers. Whether you are a competent open water swimmer or just starting, you can enjoy a session as long as you are over the age of 10. To make a splash, all you need to do is download the ACTiO app where you can check session times and book your swim.
When you arrive, you'll find convenient changing huts next to Humble Grape on Mackenzie Walk, where you can get ready for your swim. To dive into this exciting opportunity, swimmers will need to purchase a NOWCA membership for just £15 per year. This membership grants access to all 40 NOWCA UK locations, so you can explore even more open water swimming spots. Each swim session at Open Water Swimming at Canary Wharf costs £8.50, or you can join the free NOWCA Swim events that are regularly offered to members.
ACTiO app comes with additional benefits for our members. Apart from allowing you to book and pay online, the app also enables you to check your swim stats and update your emergency contacts and medical information, ensuring a seamless and efficient swimming experience.
For safety reasons, all swimmers are required to wear brightly coloured headwear, such as a swim cap, hat, or headband, as well as a bright tow float. This applies to swimmers of all abilities to ensure easy visibility in the water.
