About

Andy Evans, your dedicated organiser, is thrilled to see the continued growth and enthusiasm within the sports community of Bridgend. The Ogmore Valley Wheelers has steadily become a recognised hub for cycling enthusiasts in the area.

Through the years, the club has welcomed cyclists of all abilities, forming a diverse and inclusive community. Whether you are a seasoned cyclist or just beginning, there's a place for you at Ogmore Valley Wheelers.

One of the many benefits of membership is the variety of activities on offer. Andy ensures the club organises regular rides, social rides, time trials, coaching sessions, and turbo sessions. These cater to various interests and skill levels, providing everyone with something enjoyable to participate in.

Central to the club's calendar are the regular Sunday rides: Pacers, Chasers, and Amblers. Each ride has its own pace and distance, allowing every member to find a suitable group. Additionally, weekday club rides are often organised, offering even more opportunities to join in.

For those keen on time trials, the club runs weekly 10-mile sessions during the summer. Andy and the team also promote and participate in time trials across South Wales, giving members a chance to challenge themselves further.

Fitness and stamina are key aspects of cycling, and Andy ensures regular chaingang sessions are held on Bridgend Industrial Estate every Tuesday evening. These sessions are an excellent way to push limits and train with experienced cyclists.

Coaching plays a significant role in the club, with a dedicated coach ready to assist with bike setup, fit, and general advice. Whether you’re a novice or an advanced rider, the coaching provided can significantly enhance your cycling experience.

Turbo sessions are periodically hosted at the clubhouse on Friday evenings. These sessions offer a great way to improve fitness and technique in a supportive group environment.

Becoming a member of Ogmore Valley Wheelers brings numerous benefits. You'll meet like-minded individuals, gain access to a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and find training partners or just people with whom to share your cycling passion.

If you're in Bridgend or nearby and interested in cycling, Ogmore Valley Wheelers is the community for you. Visit their website or attend a club night to learn more and join this thriving group.
