
Offaly Rowing Club, located in Tullamore, has a rich history dating back almost four decades. Founded by current president Frank Durkin, the club has been affiliated with Rowing Ireland since 1985. Originally based at Thomas' Lock, the club moved to its current boathouse at Lock 23 in 1993. Over the years, Offaly Rowing Club has achieved great success, winning 47 national titles and producing athletes who have represented Ireland at the international level.
The club is not just about competitive rowing, as it has welcomed parents, former members, and other adults to participate in races and recreational rowing. More importantly, Offaly Rowing Club has provided countless juniors and adult members with the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, develop their rowing skills, and engage with their peers in a positive and productive manner.
