Welcome to O'Brien Ice House, Australia's premier ice skating and ice sports venue located in Melbourne. With two ice rinks, we offer the opportunity to skate 7 days a week, 364 days a year. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned skater, we have something for everyone.
For those new to ice skating, we've got you covered. It's always a cool 16 °C at the Ice House, but don't worry, you'll warm up after you've done a few laps. We recommend wearing layers, a beanie to keep your head warm, gloves to keep your hands warm, and long, thick socks to make your skates nice and comfy. Helmets are available free of charge and are recommended for beginners.
We have sizes ranging from XXS to XXL, but if you have very small children, please bring your own helmet.
Our friendly Skate Hire team is available to assist in fitting your skates. Sizes range from a toddlers 7 to a men's US 14.
At O'Brien Ice House, there's a lot more to do besides skating. We offer a wide range of activities and programmes, including ice hockey, figure skating, speed skating, and curling. Our Ice Hockey Academy is the best place to master this rewarding sport, whether you're a new player looking to master the basics or a pro looking to develop your technique. We also have a Skaters Network Pro Shop that has everything you need to be your best on the rink.

Located at O'Brien Ice House, we also have the Igloo Café, St Moritz Bar, and a gym. The facilities are top-notch, and our friendly and professional staff will make sure you feel welcome every time you visit.
