Hi everyone,
Alex, the organiser at Oakbrook Badminton Club, wanted to share a few updates about the upcoming season. For anyone new or thinking about joining, here's the lowdown.
The season's joining fee is £110 for adults and £55 for juniors (under 19). This fee covers all club sessions throughout the season, including the summer ones, and also includes entry into any club tournaments.
To join, you'll need to fill out a membership form and pay the fee. The form just asks for some basic personal details and an emergency contact. You can pay in cash or by cheque, made out to Oakbrook Badminton Club.
Once you're a member, you'll get a membership card that gives you access to all club sessions. You'll also be added to the mailing list for updates on club news, events, and tournaments.
If you're unsure about committing to a full membership, you can pay a guest fee of £3 per session (£2 for students) to try it out. If you decide to join after giving it a go, any guest fees you've paid will be deducted from your membership cost.
Players of all ages and abilities are welcome, from beginners to the more experienced. Club sessions are a great way to improve your skills, get a good workout, and meet fellow badminton fans.
Sessions are held at King Edward VII Lower School on Darwin Lane, Crosspool, Sheffield. The sports hall has four good-quality courts, with changing rooms and hot showers available. Drinking water is provided too.
Oakbrook Badminton Club has a long history in the Sheffield and District Badminton Association, and we're proud of our strong presence in the local league with seven teams entered. Our main season runs from September to April, but we keep the fun going with summer sessions from May to August.
If you're interested in joining or have any questions, please check out our website for contact details. Alex and the rest of the club look forward to welcoming you and sharing some great badminton moments!
Cheers!
