The Palmerston Game Fishing Club Inc. is excited to promote the NT’s annual fishing event, Secret Women’s Business Barra Challenge (SWB). This tournament, established in 2007, is specifically designed to create a comfortable environment for women to learn and experience the thrill of angling and boating.
Taking place at the picturesque Corroboree Billabong, SWB not only offers a fantastic fishing opportunity but also provides camping facilities for our avid competitors. And let's not forget the evening entertainment that takes place on a unique makeshift stage!
Over the years, SWB has gained quite the reputation, now drawing in approximately 42 teams and over 150 skilled competitors. As the only women's fishing tournament in the Territory aligned with a registered fishing club, our event is fully insured, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
SWB has a strong focus on promoting sustainable angling practices. We encourage participants to engage in the sport in a manner that respects the environment and its inhabitants. By doing so, we aim to contribute to the preservation and protection of our beautiful fishing grounds.
But it's not all about fishing! SWB also fosters an active lifestyle for women, providing a wonderful opportunity for them to form lifelong friendships. The camaraderie and sense of community that develops during the tournament are truly special. It's more than just a fishing competition; it's an unforgettable bonding experience.
If you're interested in being a part of SWB, expressions of interest are open from late January to April each year. Stay updated on all the tournament news and announcements by following us on Facebook or emailing us to be added to our mailing list.
Join us at Secret Women’s Business Barra Challenge, where women can indulge in their love for angling, create lasting memories, and immerse themselves in the beauty of the Northern Territory's fishing world. We can't wait to see you there!
