Nottingham Lindy Hop

Welcome to Nottingham Lindy Hop, a vibrant and inclusive dance school located in Nottingham, New Zealand. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or just starting out, we strive to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone to explore the joy of Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz.

Our classes take place at St Christopher's Church Hall, Trent Road, Sneinton, Nottingham. No partner is necessary, and all levels of experience are welcome. We believe that dance is for everyone, so don't hesitate to join us, even if you've never danced before!

Lindy Hop classes are held on Sunday evenings, starting at 5:00 PM with Level 1 Foundations. This class is suitable for beginners and focuses on building a strong foundation in Lindy Hop. Following the class, there is a practise and social time at 6:00 PM where dancers of all levels can come together to connect and enjoy the dance. At 6:30 PM, Level 2 Improvers begins, offering a chance for more experienced dancers to further develop their skills.

In our Level 1 Lindy Hop class, we start with the basics, including walking and rhythm, gradually adding more footwork and complexity. We emphasise safe and respectful connexion with our partners, creating a supportive and enjoyable learning environment. Additionally, we encourage dancers to explore both leading and following roles, as this can add a new level of excitement and fun to the dance. No partner is necessary, as we rotate partners throughout the class.

Our instructors understand that everyone learns at their own pace, and we celebrate the unique journey of each dancer. Whether you're a natural or feel a bit wobbly on your feet, we guarantee you'll learn and improve week by week. Lindy Hop is about embracing the experience and enjoying the ride, so come join us for a blast of energy and laughter.

To make the most of your Lindy Hop journey, we offer a special bundle offer for January. For those joining us on 7th January, you can pay a reduced price of 20 for all three Level 1 classes in January or all three Level 2 classes if you're an experienced dancer. If you attend both classes each week, you can pay 35 upfront for all three Sundays. This offer is designed to encourage regular attendance and provide an incentive to commit to a full month of classes.

Payment can be made with card or cash at the door, and we are working on implementing a pre-pay system for convenience. Please note that there are no refunds for non-attendance, as this offer is intended to motivate and support your commitment to the classes.

In addition to Lindy Hop, we also offer Solo Jazz classes on Monday evenings. These classes are a fantastic way to improve your solo dancing and add more variety to your repertoire.
