Norwich Gymnastics Club

Glenys Halford, the organiser of Norwich Gymnastics Club, extends a warm invitation to the sports community to experience what this club has to offer. Established in April 1994 through the amalgamation of Norwich Priory Gym, Glenhill Gymnastics Club, and Rainbow Sports Acrobatics Club, the Norwich Gymnastics Club has a rich history and has produced notable athletes, including Great Britain Olympian Peter Starling.

Located conveniently just off Salhouse Road in Norwich, the club houses a purpose-built, full-time centre dedicated to a variety of gymnastics disciplines. Here, enthusiasts can find programmes suited for all ages and skill levels, ranging from pre-school and beginner classes to advanced and recreational training. The disciplines covered include Men's Artistic, Women's Artistic, and Acrobatic Gymnastics.

One of the key strengths of the club is its experienced and highly qualified coaching staff. All coaches at Norwich Gymnastics Club hold British Gymnastics qualifications, ensuring participants receive high-quality instruction in a safe and supportive environment. With coaches reaching up to a level 5 qualification, which is the High Performance Coach certification, the club is well-equipped to support gymnasts through every stage of their development.

Norwich Gymnastics Club also provides opportunities for competition and squad training, regularly hosting events and organising training camps during Easter and Summer. Furthermore, the club offers British Gymnastics approved coaching courses and examinations, allowing local coaches to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Under Glenys Halford’s leadership, Norwich Gymnastics Club has achieved significant growth and success, producing National Champions in both Men's and Women's Artistic Gymnastics and even representing the country at international levels. The club remains committed to ongoing development and active participation both nationally and internationally.
