Aikido Club, has been promoted to Sandan (3rd Dan) by the BAF technical grading committee and visiting instructor Sho Umetsu 5th Dan Shidoin from the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo. This achievement is a testament to Karolina's dedication and passion for Aikido, and we are honoured to have her as our Chief Instructor.
Northwich Aikido Club is affiliated with the British Aikido Federation and was established in February 2022 by Karolina Packo. Karolina has been practising Aikido for over twenty years, starting in her hometown of Gdansk, Poland. After moving to the United Kingdom, she continued her training in Warrington and later at Chester Aikido Club under the instruction of Sensei Steve Parr, 6th Dan Shihan, whom she still trains with regularly.
At Northwich Aikido Club, our mission is to provide the highest quality martial arts training in a safe and supportive environment. We welcome beginners to join our classes, as we believe that Aikido is suitable for people of all ages and physical makeups. Aikido is a non-violent system designed for self-defence, utilising natural circular movements to divert and control an attacker's force. In addition to throws, there are also various joint locks for controlling the attacker.
Our classes currently cater to adults only. We offer classes every Thursday from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Located at the back of the Concraft Business Park in Wincham, Northwich, off Chapel Street, our dojo provides a dedicated space for training.
In addition to regular classes, we also organise special events, such as courses with experienced instructors. We have a 2-day course with Ian McClarence Shihan 7th dan in North Shields on November 4th and 5th, and a 1-day course with Paul Hughes 4th dan in Manchester on November 26th. These events provide opportunities for further learning and enrichment in Aikido.
