Northumberland Karate, located in Scotsburn, Pictou County, is the oldest Karate Dojo in the area, established on Feb 28, 1973. The school offers traditional Karate instruction in a structured training format, focusing on the development of character alongside physical skills. Students of all ages, from Kids (7-12 yrs) to Juveniles (13-17 yrs) and Adults, benefit from improved fitness, confidence, and self-esteem through their training.
The curriculum at Northumberland Karate includes various elements such as Kata (Regular, PK & Jiyu), Kihon (basic techniques including 10 Waza's), and Kumite (partnered drills including Gohan, Kata Application & Free Sparring). Located in the bottom studio at Asheli Ballet School in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, Northumberland Karate welcomes new members through open registration. The Kids Program runs from September to June, while the Juvenile & Adult Programs are available year-round, providing flexibility for individuals to join and progress at any time.
