Rupert wants to share some exciting news about the North Shropshire Wheelers Cycling Club. Established way back in 1926, this club is nestled in Whitchurch, Shropshire. Although time trials are their main gig, they welcome all sorts of cyclists – from track and road racers to mountain bikers and triathletes.
Most of the members live within 20 miles of Whitchurch, making it a tight-knit bunch. Rupert’s been busy organising a bunch of events for the season. There are the ‘10’ mile time-trials every Wednesday evening from May to August, great for those looking to up their game. Plus, there’s the big ‘25’ mile time trial in August, which brings in cyclists from other clubs around the area.
The club is all about camaraderie. Rupert’s planned regular training weekends and holidays, both in the UK and occasionally abroad. These are perfect for connecting with other cyclists, seeing new routes, and testing your limits.
Club runs happen midweek and on weekends – a great way to keep fit, train, and catch up with friends. These group rides are solid for boosting fitness and skills while building a serious sense of community.
The club’s affiliated with several cycling organisations like CTT, BC, Cycling UK, SCCA, WCTTCA, and MLCA. This means members get access to a wealth of resources and benefits.
