Colin, the dedicated organiser of the North Shore Bridge Club, invites all sports enthusiasts to experience the exciting world of bridge at 39 Killarney St, Takapuna, Auckland. Established in 1957, this club is set in the tranquil Killarney Reserve with stunning views of Lake Pupuke, offering an ideal setting for bridge fans to indulge in their passion.
The club runs four regular bridge sessions each week, where players need to bring their own partner. If you're flying solo, no worries—head to the Monday and Wednesday morning or Thursday night sessions, which don't require a partner. For those keen to sharpen their skills, Colin arranges bridge tuition on Tuesday nights, teaching the Acol system popular among members.
Throughout the year, Colin ensures the club hosts three major Centre tournaments: the Swiss Pairs (5A), Restricted (8B), and Combined (5B/3B). These tournaments are a fantastic chance to challenge yourself and compete with other bridge enthusiasts in a spirited and friendly environment.
Annual membership at the North Shore Bridge Club is $80, with a table charge of $6.50 per session. Visitors are welcome too, at $8 cash per session. Note that there are limits on the number of visits per year depending on your residency status.
The club also supports the community by offering its downstairs room for hire, perfect for various activities and events.
Stay updated with the club's latest news and comprehensive schedule by checking out the regular newsletter on their website. Whether you're an experienced player or just starting, Colin ensures the North Shore Bridge Club offers a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
