Welcome to North Reading Badminton Club (NRBC), a friendly club located in Reading, South Oxfordshire. The club meets every Wednesday evening from 7. 30 to 9. 30pm at the Highdown School Sports Hall in Emmer Green.
Our club comprises adult members of all ages who share a passion for badminton.
To ensure fair competition and enjoyable gameplay, players are expected to meet a minimum playing standard. The new season commences on the first Wednesday of September each year, providing an exciting opportunity for new members to join.
NRBC is proud to be affiliated with the Reading Badminton Association (RBA) League, where we enter Mens, Ladies, and Mixed teams. Additionally, we participate in the RBA Cup, a handicapped knock-out competition. Our home matches take place on Friday evenings at Kendrick School in Reading.
Club fees for adults are currently set at 135. 00 per year, which includes the Badminton England registration fee. Reduced fees are available for members joining after October, and individuals who are already registered with Badminton England will receive appropriately reduced club membership fees.
Our club season spans 8 months, running from early September to the end of April. With a desire to grow our club, we actively seek new members. If you are interested in joining NRBC and would like more information, please reach out to us. We encourage prospective members to visit us on a Wednesday night at Highdown School Sports Hall to experience our club firsthand.
Visitors are welcome to play for up to 3 sessions as a trial. If they enjoy their time at NRBC and meet the minimum club standard, they will be invited to become official members. Guest fees are free for the first visit and 5 per session thereafter, with the amount being deductible from the membership fee upon joining.
Please mark your calendars for the start and end dates of the upcoming 2021/2022 season: we will kick off on 8th September 2021 and conclude on 27th April 2021.
