Taking a private lesson, spectators are not encouraged for safety and focus reasons. For group lessons, we have a viewing area for parents and friends to watch. However, please keep noise to a minimum as horses can be easily spooked.
Northern Twilight Farm, located in Telkwa, BC, has been breeding Welsh ponies since 1975, continuing a family tradition of producing quality Welsh Mountain Ponies, Section B riding ponies, and part-bred Welsh. These ponies can be found across western Canada as both competition ponies and beloved family members. In addition to Welsh ponies, the farm is also working on fulfilling their dream of raising palomino and buckskin part Arabian horses.
The farm offers riding lessons in both English and Western disciplines at a beginner level, focusing on providing students with a strong foundation in riding. While not geared towards competition, the goal is to instill a love of riding and confidence in students. Lessons are available for children aged 5 and up, with special arrangements possible for younger riders. All necessary equipment and horses or ponies are provided, with helmets required for safety.
Payment for lessons can be made in cash, cheque, or e-transfer, and must be made in advance unless otherwise arranged. The farm also offers the opportunity for students to bring their own horses for lessons, depending on the specific circumstances. Spectators are welcome to watch lessons from a designated area, but are asked to keep noise levels down to avoid spooking the horses.
