North Canberra Bowling Club, located in the heart of Canberra, has been a prominent sports club in the area for over sixty years. Established in June 1958, the club has continuously improved its facilities and now boasts three top-quality bowling greens and a clubhouse that caters to the diverse needs of its members and guests.
The club warmly welcomes members from other bowling clubs as well as individuals from the wider community. Those interested in joining the club can find more information in the Club Information section. Additionally, North Canberra Bowling Club has recently merged with the RUC to ensure the continued success of the club. This partnership has breathed new life into the Turner Clubhouse, which now operates from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, seven days a week.
One of the highlights of North Canberra Bowling Club is its weekly bowls programme. On Tuesdays, the club hosts open sectional pairs, where participants can enter individually or as a pair. Wednesdays are reserved for mixed social bowls, starting at 10:00 am and open to single entries. Thursdays offer mixed triples and pairs, except the third Thursday of each month, which is reserved for single entry only.
Fridays continue the theme of mixed social bowls, and on Saturdays, participants can join in mixed pairs and triples. The last Saturday of the month is reserved for single entry only.
During the summer months, all sessions begin at 10:00 am, while from April to October, the Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday sessions start at 10:30 am. Green fees for each session are $10. Interested individuals can submit their names via email to cnbcbookings@gmail. Com by 8:00 am on the day, or they can contact Mark at 0401 149 352 if email access is not available.
Wednesday and Friday bowlers have the option to email by 8:00 am or simply arrive at the club by 9:30 am. The club does not offer bowling on Mondays, as it is dedicated to green preparation and maintenance.
The dress code for bowling sessions is mufti (plain clothes), but club championships and pennants require the participants to wear the club's uniform. For inquiries regarding the social bowls programme or joining the club, individuals can leave a message at 6247 7703, and the club will promptly respond.
