North Balgowlah School of Dance has been a leader in dance education on Sydney's Northern Beaches since 1992. The school offers classes for boys and girls of all ages, starting from 3 years old, as well as adult ballet classes. Led by their RAD qualified principal, Teresa Geraghty, and a team of talented teachers, the school specialises in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Tap, and Musical Theatre.
One unique aspect of North Balgowlah School of Dance is that it is the only dance school in the Southern Hemisphere currently teaching the innovative Rambert Contemporary syllabus developed in London. This sets them apart and allows students to explore a modern and dynamic style of dance.
The school believes in encouraging each and every student to achieve their potential and gain confidence through the development of fitness, movement, musicality, and strong dance technique. Whether a student is looking for the fun and enjoyment of dance alone or wants to undertake the personal challenge of exams, North Balgowlah School of Dance provides the best dance environment.
North Balgowlah School of Dance is committed to the safety and well-being of its students, staff, and parents, especially in the current COVID-19 climate. They adhere to government recommended and enforced practises to ensure a COVID safe environment for everyone.
The school is proud to have an inclusive dance family and welcomes new students to join. With a team of talented and highly qualified teachers, including founder and Principal Teresa Geraghty, students are in excellent hands. Teresa is a fully qualified teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), and the Rambert School of Contemporary Dance in London. With over 24 years of teaching experience, she is highly sought after and has conducted workshops both in London and Regional NSW.
In addition to Teresa, the school also has other experienced teachers who are passionate about dance education. Anna Hugo, a classically trained dancer, brings her expertise in RAD Classical Ballet, Contemporary, and Jazz, while Lissa Woolven, with her more than 20 years of dance experience, specialises in Contemporary dance and holds qualifications in both RAD and ISTD Modern exams.
North Balgowlah School of Dance takes pride in providing a nurturing and inclusive environment that allows students to flourish and reach their full potential.
