Northants Combination

Established in 1953, the Northants Combination, originally formed from the merger of the Mid-Northants League and the Central Village League, has grown to be the leading body for Saturday 11v11 adult football in Northamptonshire. From its beginnings with village teams playing on local grounds, the league now includes teams from various towns using municipal facilities.

Offering competitive football across five divisions, the Northants Combination caters to players of all abilities. Recent efforts have seen facility improvements and the achievement of Step 7 status, allowing some clubs to climb the football pyramid. Strong links with youth leagues help young players transition smoothly into adult football.

Managed by an elected committee of league officers and club representatives, the Northants Combination holds regular meetings to address club needs and develop the league. As a FA Charter Standard League and a FA Respect League, it upholds high standards of professionalism and respect. The league secretary ensures smooth operations, with club secretaries tasked with player registration, pitch preparations, welcoming opposition and referees, and communicating match results and changes. Responsibilities also cover regular communication with opponents and referees, completing team sheets, attending meetings, and adhering to league rules.
