Northampton Outlaws Rugby Football Club, known as Northampton Outlaws RFC, is an inclusive rugby team proudly based in Northampton, in the East Midlands of the United Kingdom. Established in April 2012, it was the region's first 'Inclusive Rugby' club, welcoming players from Northamptonshire and beyond.
The Outlaws, under the guidance of their dedicated organisers, were trailblazers from the beginning. They created a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of experience, ability, age, ethnicity, religion, or sexuality. Many members joined the club as novices and found a supportive environment to learn and improve their skills.
For newcomers, the club’s website offers a helpful “Frequently Asked Questions” section with information on joining the team. The “About Us” section explores the club's history, core values, and involvement in the International Gay Rugby (IGR) League.
Since their first match against the Manchester Village Spartans in February 2013, Northampton Outlaws have grown in reputation and strength. Celebrating their first anniversary, they played a memorable game against Mens Own RFC, attended by former England player Ben Cohen. Their participation in the 2013 Union Cup in Bristol saw them ranked 6th in Europe.
A proud member of the IGR League, Northampton Outlaws RFC stands firm on promoting equality and diversity. They work to eliminate discrimination and encourage a healthy lifestyle through rugby.
The club recognises and deeply appreciates the support from its sponsors. A list of these key supporters is available on their website, highlighting the crucial role they play in the Outlaws' success.
Built on the foundation of inclusivity, Northampton Outlaws RFC welcomes all players, from complete beginners to seasoned veterans. The club fosters a friendly, supportive community and values the social bonds formed through rugby. Fans and supporters are encouraged to join the camaraderie at matches and post-game events.
Throughout the year, the Outlaws participate in various events, strengthening community ties. Those interested in joining or learning more about the club are urged to follow their social media accounts and use the provided contact information.
