

Studied for his PhD in Physical Education. While there, he continued to teach Hapkido and even formed the Korean Martial Arts Federation in the United States.
In 1974, Dr. Kimm relocated to the United Kingdom, where he began teaching Hapkido and other martial arts. He founded the Norfolk HanMuDo Group in Cromer, a martial arts club dedicated to teaching traditional Korean martial arts and self-defence.
The Norfolk HanMuDo Group – Cromer Martial Arts is a welcoming and inclusive club, open to students of all ages and abilities. The instructors have extensive experience in training individuals with different learning needs, such as autism and ADHD, and are able to tailor their teaching to suit individual needs.
The classes at the Norfolk HanMuDo Group focus on a combination of control techniques, joint locks, throws, and kicking techniques. Traditional weapon techniques, including the use of sword, staff, belt, and short weapons, are also part of the syllabus. Groundwork and wrestling are practised to enhance control techniques.

The programme encourages balance in all aspects of life, promoting healthy living, fitness, and a positive attitude. The classes are conducted in a friendly and supportive environment, allowing students to develop at their own pace.
The founder of the Norfolk HanMuDo Group, Master Tom Pellew, is a highly respected martial artist with several decades of experience. He is a student of Grandmaster Kimm Dr. He-Young Kimm, who has a rich and storied background in martial arts. Dr.
Kimm began learning martial arts at a young age and has studied various styles including Yudo, Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, Kong Soo Do, and Hapkido. He is considered a pioneer in Hapkido and was the first to teach it in the United States.
The Norfolk HanMuDo Group offers free introductory classes, allowing prospective students to experience the training and atmosphere of the club without any commitment. The club operates on a not-for-profit basis, enabling them to keep training costs affordable for students.
