Nomads TTC, Middlesbrough's oldest table tennis club, welcomes table tennis enthusiasts of all skill levels. Established in 1948, Nomads TTC takes pride in its rich history and tradition. With approximately 28 members, ranging in age from 15 to 81 for the 2023/24 season, the club offers a relaxed and friendly environment for players of all ages to enjoy the sport.
Located in the Middlesbrough Scout Headquarters since September 2020, Nomads TTC boasts excellent playing facilities and a large car park, making it one of the best venues in the area. The club's hall accommodates five high-quality competition tables, providing players with optimal playing conditions.
Nomads TTC is grateful for the support it has received from its sponsors, Beaumont Accountancy Services. Being sponsored for nine consecutive years has allowed the club to develop and sustain its vibrant social, local league, and internal league activities. The support from Beaumont Accountancy Services has made a significant difference to the community club and its members.
One of the club's notable events is the Russ Teasdale League and Barry Pearson Handicap competition. In memory of Russ Teasdale, the competition is held annually and involves 21 club members competing against each other in a one-man league format. Additionally, the handicap league, courtesy of Barry Pearson, adds an exciting element to the competition. This event serves as an opportunity for the members to improve their match practise, enhancing their performance in the Stockton League campaign.
