The Nippers program at Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club is an incredible opportunity for children between the ages of 5 to Under 14 to have a blast at the beach while learning vital surf safety and skills.

Since 1965, our Nippers program has been a favourite among kids in Sydney. It's no wonder thousands of children have benefited from this amazing program at the renowned Bondi Beach.

At Nippers, we believe in the power of fun, friendship, and growing confidence. We emphasise the importance of community and teach our young participants valuable lessons that will stay with them for life.

Every Sunday, our enthusiastic Nippers get to enjoy a variety of activities tailored to their specific age group. From thrilling board paddling to refreshing swimming, exciting wading, and heart-pumping beach flags, there's never a dull moment at Nippers.

But it's not just about the fun and games. Our program is carefully designed to build a solid foundation of surf skills and knowledge. From learning about the surf environment to mastering CPR, water rescues, and basic first aid, our Nippers develop a diverse range of skills throughout the program.

The Nippers activities take place on Sunday mornings from October until March, with a short break over the Christmas and New Year period. We welcome Nippers to join us as soon as they turn 5 years old.

For the first two years, our Under U6s and U7s focus on fun and games on the beach while also being introduced to basic surf skills and awareness of surf safety.

From U8s all the way up to U14s, our structured program includes skill development activities both on the beach and in the water. We also offer an integrated education program that teaches basic resuscitation, first aid, and rescue skills.

Our U14s have the opportunity to undertake the Surf Life Saving Certificate (SRC), which prepares them for active patrolling duties with Bondi SBLSC. This prestigious award trains our U14s in rescue skills, first aid, patient management, resuscitation, and surf awareness.
