Ken from Belgravia Leisure NZ wants to let everyone know about the great swimming options in the Waikato district.
First up, the Ngaruawahia Swimming Pool on Market Street offers recreation and swimming lessons for all ages. In December, it opens weekdays 3pm-6pm and weekends 12pm-6pm, with more hours from 18-23 December (12pm-6pm) and 24 December (12pm-3pm). It's closed on 25-26 December and 1-2 January. Summer hours run 27 December-28 January, weekdays and weekends 12pm-6pm, then shifts to 3pm-6pm weekdays and 12pm-6pm weekends until 31 March. Entry is affordable: kids $1.50, students/seniors $1, and adults $2.
Next, the Huntly Aquatic Centre on Wight Street has lap, learner's, and toddler pools, plus an outdoor picnic area. It opens weekdays 6:30am-7pm and weekends 9am-5pm, closed on Christmas and New Year's Day. Fees are a bit higher: kids $2, students/seniors $3, adults $4, and lane hire is $27 per hour.
Lastly, the Tuakau - Centennial Pool on Escotts Road is open daily 10am-6pm. Entry fees are kids $1, students/seniors $1, and adults $2. Kids 3 and under enter for $1 with a supervising adult who enters free.
