Welcome to NFKA Blyth, a Karate club that is part of the Northern Freestyle Karate Association (NFKA). At NFKA Blyth, we offer a range of experiences and welcome students of all ages and levels of expertise.
Our club is dedicated to practising a sporting style of karate that combines the best of traditional and modern systems, with a strong emphasis on freedom of movement. We believe in providing high-quality instruction that produces disciplined and technically excellent students.
Karate is a sport that can be enjoyed by the whole family, and at NFKA Blyth, we make sure to cater to family participation. We accept children from around 5 years old, with our little Ninja's classes available for children as young as 4 years old (depending on their willingness to learn). In our adult classes, we have members of various ages, from teenagers to those in their forties and fifties, and we welcome both male and female participants.
All we ask for is a reasonable standard of fitness and a willingness to learn in a friendly yet disciplined environment. If you have been inactive for a while or have had previous health concerns, we recommend consulting with our instructors or your doctor before starting training.
Our training classes are divided into junior and senior classes. Children between the ages of 5 and 13 usually train in the junior class, while everyone else trains in the senior class. We strongly encourage parents to join in with their children, and we have many family groups who regularly train together. The atmosphere in our classes is electric, and most newcomers are impressed by the positive and energetic environment.
We offer a variety of class times and locations throughout the week, including Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. This ensures that there is a convenient training opportunity for everyone.
