Neyland Yacht Club is a friendly and family-oriented sailing club situated on the North bank of the River Cleddau, providing breathtaking views of the river in both upstream and downstream directions. The club caters to yacht, dinghy, and motor boat owners. In addition, it has an amalgamated longboat rowing club.
Throughout the Spring and Summer seasons, the club hosts regular races for both dinghies and keelboats. There is also a Winter series for keelboats and a Frostbite Series for dinghies. The club organises various events such as an Open Regatta for both keelboats and dinghies, with separate starts for each, and Cruiser Week for keelboats. Neyland Yacht Club has also had the privilege of hosting class championships for dinghies and yachts.
As a recognised RYA (Royal Yachting Association) training centre, the club provides training sessions for juniors to learn sailing skills and experience the joy of sailing in a safe environment under the guidance of trained instructors. The club's junior sailing programme offers further details on these training sessions.
Motor boat members of the club have the opportunity to explore a wonderful stretch of water and visit a variety of places. Periodically, the club arranges club rallies for all members. Neyland Yacht Club boasts ample car and boat parking facilities with convenient access to the water at all states of the tide. During the Summer months, members can take advantage of the adjacent public jetty and pontoon.
The clubhouse at Neyland Yacht Club features two spacious sundecks and an enclosed conservatory, providing uninterrupted views of all the activities taking place on the water. Membership is available for sailors, social members, and corporate entities at very reasonable prices. The club operates regularly from April to the end of September, being open every evening from Monday to Saturday and at lunchtime on Sundays. During the period from October to March, the clubhouse is closed on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
The clubhouse is also home to the Alumchine bar & restaurant, which offers excellent meals and diverse menus at affordable prices. Furthermore, the restaurant facilities can be made available for private functions outside of regular opening hours.
