The birth of Newsome Panthers ARLFC can be traced back to 1995 when the Newsome Magpies open age team disbanded. Paul and Gail Brick, along with a dedicated group of parents, launched a junior section with the aim of nurturing talented players for the open age team. The club's first official committee meeting took place on October 23, 1995, where the name Panthers was adopted, and the club was formally established. Initially based at the Fountain Inn, the club soon found a home at Newsome High School and Sports College.
Over the years, the club has witnessed significant growth and success. From its humble beginnings with an under 9 and under 11 team, Newsome Panthers ARLFC now boasts eleven junior teams catering to children above 7 years old. Its teams have consistently performed well in various divisions and have garnered a strong reputation in the community.
At present, the club has a dedicated committee that oversees its operations. Steven Roberts serves as the Chairperson, with Will Smith serving as the Vice Chair. Kathryn Buckley is the Club Secretary, while Becky Roberts takes care of the club's finances as the Club Treasurer.
