The club's first official committee meeting took place on October 23, 1995, where the name Panthers was adopted, and the club was formally established. Initially based at the Fountain Inn, the club soon found a home at Newsome High School and Sports College.

From its humble beginnings with an under 9 and under 11 team, Newsome Panthers ARLFC now boasts eleven junior teams catering to children above 7 years old.
