Whether you have an interest in water-based activities or prefer something land-based and social, Newport Boat Club welcomes you with open arms.
As a member, you can enjoy various benefits and amenities offered by the club. We have a relaxed members bar where you can enjoy discounted alcoholic beverages, along with occasional social events. Our scenic seaview outside space provides ample seating and is perfect for families with children. Additionally, we offer food offers on specific summer evenings and renowned winter club suppers.
For those looking for a more exclusive experience, we have the Commodore's lounge equipped with its own bar and a fully equipped kitchen. The lounge also features a stunning west-facing sea view balcony, which is available for members' use and can be booked for private events.
If you're into rowing, we have an active rowing section comprising three Celtic longboats and two indoor Concept 2 rowing machines. Sailing enthusiasts can participate in organised dinghy races leading up to the August Bank holiday. We also provide three safety ribs that are used during sailing and rowing races. Limited dinghy parking is available at a small fee, and we have convenient boat washdown facilities.
To make your visit comfortable, we offer showers and changing rooms. You can stay connected with our Wi-Fi access to the internet. We also have a weather station and webcam to keep you informed about the local conditions.
At Newport Boat Club, safety is paramount. We remind our members to always treat the sea with respect and be aware of its potential dangers. Familiarise yourself with the river channel, identify rocks and shallows, and be cautious of the rate of flow and sandbar at the mouth of the river. Tide times and local weather forecasts are available for your convenience.
In addition to our regular offerings, we host special events like the NBC Christmas Supper, where you can indulge in a festive feast. We also welcome guests like Andrew Hill-Smith, who sailed around the UK, and even organise live music and BBQ events.
New members are always welcome to join our vibrant community. Visit our website to apply for membership and learn more about how we operate. Our committee, membership details, and constitution rules are also available for your reference.
When it comes to water activities, Newport Boat Club has you covered. We offer sailing, rowing, powerboats and fishing boats, paddle sports, open water swimming, dinghy and tender storage, and moorings. Explore our sailing and boating calendar to stay up-to-date with upcoming events and facilities.

Newport Boat Club's story is deeply rooted in history. Housed in an ancient warehouse dating back to when Parrog was a bustling port, our club strives to preserve its heritage. The current Club House building was purchased by a group of Founder Members in 1976 and has undergone sympathetic development and improvements over the years.
