Newcastle Full Moon Hash House Harriers

Newcastle Full Moon Hash House Harriers (NFMHHH) is a sports club located in Newcastle, Australia. Founded in December 1999, the club initially started as a means to obtain free beer at InterHash 2000 in Hobart, Tasmania. However, it has grown into a community that brings together individuals who enjoy socialising, having a few drinks, meeting new people, and participating in unique activities.

The club gathers once a month, usually on or near the night of the full moon, at 6 PM (unless advised otherwise). During these gatherings, known as “Reflections,” members engage in a variety of activities, including runs, socialising, and enjoying a meal together. The club is known for its adventurous runs that take participants through various terrains, such as hills, mud, rain, bushfires, and freezing cold. Additionally, members have the opportunity to visit unique locations that they may not have explored otherwise.

To keep members informed about upcoming events, NFMHHH has an active email group that is used to communicate important information regarding runs and other activities. The club also encourages cross-club networking, providing links to other local Hash clubs and clubs worldwide on their website.

NFMHHH organises special events throughout the year, with one notable upcoming event being the club's 250th Reflection Weekend. This celebration will take place from 17th to 19th February 2020 at Camp Chapman, Somersby Central Coast. The weekend will include a range of activities, such as socialising, singing, fancy-dress parties, pentathlon events, and even a midnight nude run for the brave-hearted.

For this special event, participants can choose accommodation in beds (double singles and bunks) or camping. The all-inclusive weekend package covers meals, drinks (including beer, wine, and cider), and entertainment. There will also be prizes for the best fancy-dress costumes, with the theme being the letter “P.

Regardless of whether it's a monthly Reflection or a special event, Newcastle Full Moon Hash House Harriers provides an inclusive and fun-filled environment for individuals to come together, socialise, and have a great time exploring Newcastle and its surrounds.
