Newbury Bowling Club

Newbury Bowling Club, founded in 1598, calls the charming old market town of Newbury its home. Nestled in Victoria Park near the Kennet and Avon Canal, it offers a picturesque setting for players and visitors alike.

Alan, the organiser, is proud to showcase the club’s recent refurbishment, making the green and surroundings top-notch. The club competes in Division One of the Kennett League, a position they secured in the 2019 season 🏅. The season spans from late April to late September, with a mix of home and away friendly matches. Visitors are always welcome, whether you're a seasoned player or just curious about the sport.

Every Monday evening at 6 pm, newcomers can join equipment and tuition sessions, making it easy to get started.

The spacious clubhouse is equipped with a large kitchen and a well-stocked bar offering a wide range of drinks 🍺. Note: bar purchases are cash only. The clubhouse is a hub for match-day socials and events throughout the season.

With a rich history going back to 1598, and references even earlier, Newbury Bowling Club relocated to its current site in Victoria Park in 1935. Alan emphasises their affiliation with R. C. B. A and Bowls England, welcoming touring clubs as well.
