Neasden Boxing Club

Neasden Boxing Club is a prominent boxing gym located in the heart of Neasden, in the borough of Brent, London. Established in 2011 by Xavier Miller and Nicholas Prempeh, both former headteachers with a background in education, the vision behind Neasden IQ was to create a safe and nurturing environment for individuals to become valuable members of their community.

At the start of 2020, Neasden Boxing Club boasted an impressive roster, with 40 registered amateur boxers, 15 active professional boxers, 40 junior members, and 100 recreational members regularly accessing the gym. This diverse and inclusive community is a testament to the welcoming and friendly atmosphere fostered within the club.

Neasden IQ Boxing Club offers amateur boxing classes to individuals of all ages, from 11 to 40 years old. Operating within the amateur boxing circuit under England Boxing, the club has achieved notable success over the years. Many of their boxers have gone on to become champions or transition into the professional ranks. Additionally, former club members have become boxing coaches or dedicated themselves to serving their local communities.

The history of Neasden Boxing Club is deeply rooted in the goal of revitalising the community and providing opportunities for young people. Originally taking over from the prestigious Kingfisher ABC, based in the Kingfisher Youth Centre, the club's founders, Xavier and Nicholas, sought to bring back the glory days of boxing in the area. Their commitment to boxing and education inspired the creation of IQ Boxing, an organisation that combined their love for the sport with their background in education. This eventually led to the merger of IQ Boxing and Neasden, forming IQ Neasden Boxing Club.

Throughout its existence, IQ Neasden Boxing Club has produced a number of champions who have achieved remarkable success within the sport. Plamedy Development, National Champion under 10 Bouts at 52 kg, Shannon Ryan, Female Winter Box Cup Champion at 48 kg, Ernest Wojcik, Haringey Box Cup Champion at 64 kg, Youseff Khoumari, Southern Area Champion at 60 kg, and Dennis Wahome, NW Division Champion at 60 kg, are just a few examples of the talented fighters who have emerged from the club.

As a registered charity, Neasden Boxing Club is dedicated to making a positive impact both inside and outside the gym. The club works tirelessly to create opportunities for individuals to develop their skills and abilities, as well as contribute to their community. With a focus on inclusivity and education, Neasden IQ Boxing Club strives to nurture the potential within each and every member.
