Nature School Fridays is an exciting program offered by Wild Movement Perth, a local Movement club in Perth. This program is specifically designed for children aged 6 and up, providing them with a unique opportunity to learn traditional ancestral skills, bushcraft, natural movement, and nature awareness.
At Nature School Fridays, children will acquire essential skills that will make them feel safe and at home in the wilderness. Each week, they will have the chance to learn new and diverse abilities such as starting fires, cooking on them, water purification, shelter building, basket weaving, foraging, and woodcraft. Moreover, there will be plenty of unstructured time where children can freely roam, play, and interact with peers of all ages.
The program takes place at Wild Movement's splendid location on 439 Sydney Road, Gnangara. Additionally, there may be exciting excursions to nearby wilderness locations to further enhance the children's experience.
Although Nature School Fridays is open to children ages 6 and up, we also invite younger children under the age of 6 to join in the fun and play on our jungle gym area, under the watchful eye of their parents or guardians, while their older siblings participate in the program.
It is important to note that parents or guardians must be present for each child or group of children attending the program. The program follows term dates, with upcoming terms scheduled from Feb 2nd to March 29th, April 19th to June 14th, July 19th to Sept 13th, and Oct 11th to Dec 6th.
To ensure a spot for your child, it is essential to make a booking. We offer 20 spaces each week, which can be secured by signing up for the full 9-week term (15 spaces available) or booking casual spots (5 spaces available). We understand that everyone's needs are different, so we offer various ticket options to suit your preferences. These include upfront payments for multiple Fridays or casual tickets. Prices range from A$35.00 for a casual ticket for 1 child to A$1,000.00 for upfront payment for 4 Fridays.
